The New Media Production Guide has deemed the following to be useful in the pursuit and execution of media distribution in various disciplines. Resource lists are also available in regards to production, marketing, publicity & production and business.

Companies:

• Gigasight Media Inc. - Film, television, Blu-Ray, DVD production, animation, web design, streaming video, podcast & DVD distribution. Organizers of the New Media Production Guide.

Books:

• Matters of Light & Depth by Ross Lowell - written by a working cinematographer, photographer, director and producer, this is the goods on making quality images with film. An academy award winner and instructor at NYU, Lowell uses examples from his own work and classical paintings to illustrate the concepts he describes. A must for any visual professional.

Professional Organizations:

• Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences - the folks who run the Oscars, when winners thank "the Academy" this is who they mean. This is the filmmakers association, covering all disciplines, they're a good group to get in with.

Websites:

• Tribe Hollywood - Originally created by an NYU grad for NYU grads, this social networking site has been opened up to all media professionals. A great way to recruit crew, meet actors, find writers etc.

Movies:

• Visions of Light - One of the, if not the best documentary on the art of cinematography. Containing interviews with filmmakers and clips from great cinema. Well worth watching.
